Garfield Back

This was a Christmas gift for my dad. He placed it in his office space at work. Man....that sure motivates someone to work, doesn't it? (sarcasm) One of my favorite cartoon strips of all time. ITTTTTTTTTT'SSSS GARFIELD!!! This took me a long time do and I am very proud of myself for this one. It is not a plushy but I would like to learn how to do that one day. It is a start. This project required a little hand sewing, painting, sanding, sculpting, and many many many hours to make it.

The tail is hand sewn and filled with cotton filler so that it could flop over in any position needed. His body, with the exception of the tail, is completely styrofoam and is padded in his neck area, pads on his feet, and belly to give him softness in the areas that are supposed to be soft. His whiskers are clear thread that I dripped hot glue on to thicken it up. Then I painted them to look like his whiskers. I also placed some round wooden craft sticks inside him to hold his body parts together.
